I’ve been playing around a bit more with clay and an ‘afternoon tea’ theme this week 🍰
this week I’ve been having an awful lot of fun playing around with clay!
'one cannot be unhappy when looking at a sloth'
and ain’t that the gospel truth
I just thought I’d pop by to let you all know that I’ve just finished my first week of my two week placement at the hallmark creative studio! there’s been a lot going on and I’ve blitzed through a bunch of work, however I unfortunately can’t share any of it with you due to copyright. I’ve been doing a little bit of my own doodling in the meantime and have a couple of projects planned for afterwards, so here’s to hoping the summer holds lots of doodling and improving for me!
last week saw teesside university’s creative arts week and a graphic design exhibition showcasing year three’s work alongside a selection of second and first year work, and i was lucky enough to be chosen to have a banner exhibited! i uploaded some small snippets of the second year work to my blog if anybody’s interested in a bit more of a nosey.
i’m very aware that this tumblr’s very neglected, so i thought i’d pop back briefly with a slight update to let you all know that i’m still alive, and hopefully i’ll be updating this a little more from here on as i plan to upload all my instagram development work onto here as well as finished work that i remember to blog.
i’m done with uni for the summer and have since been doodling – no more, no less. i have a couple of story ideas i also want to get written up properly over the summer, but in terms of actual work, i’m planning on experimenting with media and techniques rather than getting any ‘solid work’ completed because i feel that will be the best for me in preparation for my step up into third year in september. that said, if i find my work taking on a promising path, i am working with a little zine idea currently (see image) and so that could definitely be a possibility, but we’ll see!
i finished up my picture book for the macmillan prize, you can view some snaps of the finished book and a few spreads on my online portfolio if you’d like to take a peek!
I’ve been informed that my above illustration has been posted on tumblr by someone other than me claiming it as their own work. after creeping a few tags I’m yet to find it reposted, but if you happen to spot it at all I’d really appreciate if you could link me up! I’m not sure yet whether to be flattered or irritated, but we’ll see!
it’s late, but I did a frozen doodle!
more spread development for Macmillan!
